Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Oil
  • 1/4 cup Curd
  • 1 cup Semolina (sooji)
  • 4 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp maida
  • 1/2 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tbsp baking soda
  • 1/4 cup Tutti Frutti
  • 1 tbsp vanilla essence
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Take a mixing bowl and add 1/4 cup cooking oil, 1/2 cup curd (1 egg), 1/2 cup sugar, 1 cup semolina and mix well. Add 1/4 cup water, mix well again, cover and rest for 15 minutes.

  2. Again, take a mixing bowl, keep a stainer on it. Add 2 tbsp maida, 1/2 tbsp baking powder, 1/4 tbsp baking soda. Sieve properly to avoid any lumps. Mix well to avoid bubbles if any. If the batter is thick, add 4 tbsp of milk to adjust the consistency of the batter. Add 1 tbsp vanilla essence and mix well.

  3. Take 3 small bowls of the desired shapes and grease with oil well. Fill half a cup of the batter only. Shake well once to level the batter. Add some tutty fruity on the batter to decorate (optional).

  4. Take a frying pan and place a stand in it. Close the lid and preheat for 10 minutes on medium flame.

  5. After 10 mins (step 4), place the cake molds in the frying pan and close the lid. Cook on the low flame for 30 to 40 minutes.

  6. If you have an oven, then preheat at 140°C and bake in micro convection @140°C for 7 minutes.

  7. After 40 minutes, check whether the cake is baked or not. You can vertically insert a toothpick in the cake. If the batter is non-sticky to your toothpick, then your cake is perfectly cooked. Now allow it to cool for 10 minutes. Remove the cake from the mold using a knife.

  8. Finally, the yummy Semolina Cake is ready to enjoy.
