Ingredients

  • 3 cup carrot grated
  • 3 tbsp ghee
  • 12 pieces cashew nuts
  • 1 tbsp raisins
  • 2 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tbsp cardamom powder

Instructions

  1. Take 3 large size carrots, wash them neatly and peel off the skin. Then cut the edges and grate the carrots for 3 cups.

  2. Now heat a pan and add 2 tbsp ghee. After heating for 2 minutes, add 10-12 pieces of cashews and fry on low flame in the ghee. Additionally, drop 1 tbsp raisins and roast. Keep it aside.

  3. In the same pan, add the grated carrots and roast for 3 to 4 minutes. Consider adding 2 cups of milk by the same cup from which you have taken the carrots. Simmer on medium flame. Combine well and cook till the milk dissolves.

  4. Nextly, add 3/4 cups of sugar (1/4 cup sugar for each cup of grated carrot) and combine well till the sugar gets dissolved. Finally, add 1/4 tbsp of cardamom powder, roasted nuts (step 2) and 1 tbsp ghee. Mix well, cook for a minute and turn off the flame

  5. Your delicious Carrot Halwa is ready to serve hot or chilled.
