Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup curd
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1/4 cup maida
  • 2 tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • 1 cup Suji /Semolina
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 tbsp Baking Powder
  • 1/4 tbsp Baking soda
  • few chopped Dry Fruits

Instructions

  1. Take a mixing bowl. Add 1/2 cup curd, 3/4 cup sugar during mixing, add 1/4 cup cooking oil and continue for 1 minute.

  2. Take a bowl and keep a stainer on it. Add 1/4 cup maida, 2 tbsp cocoa powder. Sieve properly to avoid any lumps. Mix well to avoid bubbles if any. Add 1 cup rava (Semolina) and mix well. Close a lid and rest the container for 30 minutes.

  3. After 30 minutes, combine the mixture slowly with milk. Add 1/2 tbsp baking powder, 1/4 tbsp baking soda and mix well for flowing consistency as shown below.

  4. Meanwhile, take a pan. Keep a butter paper and grease it with oil or dust with maida, so that the cake can be removed perfectly. Fill the batter in the pan and shake well to avoid bubbles. Garnish with some chopped dry fruits. Close the lid.

  5. Preheat a Tawa on a medium flame for 10 minutes.

  6. Keep the pan (step 4) on the Tawa and bake on low flame for 50-55 minutes.

  7. After 40 minutes, check whether the cake is baked or not. You can vertically insert a toothpick in the cake. If the batter is non-sticky to your toothpick, then your cake is perfectly cooked. Now allow it to cool for 10 minutes. Remove the cake from the pan using a knife and peel off the butter paper.

  8. Make some slices of the chocolate rava cake and serve with milk.

Recipe Notes

  • Use milk and all liquids kept in room temperature only.
