Here you can see a quick and easy cabbage curry recipe. It can be eaten and served with chapathi, paratha or roti as sabzi. This fine shredded cabbage curry is stir fried with freshly ground coconut and masala. It taste spicy and delicious.

Ingredients

  • 1 bowl(250grms) Cabbage chopped
  • ½ cup onion chopped
  • ½ cup fresh coconut chopped
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Coriander leaves few
  • ½ tsp mustard seeds
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp gram dal
  • 2 green chillies chopped
  • Curry leaves few
  • Salt to taste
  • water as required

Instructions

  1. Firstly in a large kadai, add cabbage one glass of water, cover the lid and cook for 5 minutes
  2. Drain of the water and keep cabbage aside
  3. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin, mustard, gram dal and allow to splutter
  4. Add chilli, onion, curry leaves and saute for a minute
  5. Then add cabbage, salt and mix well
  6. Finally garnish with coconut and coriander leaves mix well
  7. Cover the lid simmer for a minute and turn off the flame
  8. Serve with roti and chapati

Recipe Notes

  • For better taste always use fresh coconut
  • It tastes great when green chilies are used instead of red chilly powder
