- 4 small size Tomatos chopped
- ½ cup Toor dal soak 10 minuutes
- 1 medium size onion chopped
- 1 tbsp red chilli powder
- ¼ cup Tamarind extract
- 1 tbsp oil
- ½ tsp musterd seeds
- ½ tsp cumin seeds
- ¼ tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 dried red chilli
- 4 crushed garlic
- Curry leaves few
- water as required
In a pressure cooker add soaked dal, onion, tomato, turmeric, chilli powder, tamarind also add 1 tsp oil one cup of water and mix well. You can add more water if you want.
Cover the lid and cook for 3 whistles.
Once the pressure is released by itself open the lid add salt to taste and mash gently with masher.
To prepare temparing heat oil in a pan.
Add cumin, mustard seeds, garlic, red chilli, curry leaves, asafotida and saute for a minute keep on medium flame.
Pour the temparing over the pappu.
Serve hot with rice.
