Learn easy method of cooking Mangalore buns | Banana bun | Banana puri. It tastes great and can be served with coconut chutney and veg saagu. Here we using banana and curd it makes puri more tasty and puffy

Ingredients

  • 1 cup maida
  • 2 tbsp curd
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 pinch baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 ripened banana
  • oil for deep fry

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl add peeled banana, sugar and mash it
  2. Add curd, cumin seeds, baking soda, salt and mix well, do not add water
  3. Now add maida combine well with hand and knead softly for 5 minutes, grease 1 tsp of oil on the dough, cover with a lid and rest for 8 hours
  4. Knead slightly and make small ball size dough
  5. Dust maida and roll slightly thick puri
  6. Now deep fry in hot oil, splash hot oil on the puri so it will be puffs up, flip over and fry both sides until its colour changes to dark golden brown
  7. Take out the puri from the oil and serve with chutney or saagu

Recipe Notes

  • You can use wheat flour instead of maida 
  • If you like more sweet add 1 more tsp of sugar
