Ingredients

  • 400 grms beetroot chopped
  • 1 onion medium size chopped
  • 2 tomatoes medium size chopped
  • 1.5 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp gram dal
  • ½ tsp mustard seeds
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp ginger & garlic paste
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • few curry leaves
  • ½ cup water
  • salt to taste
  • Water as required

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a cooker, add mustard and cumin seeds, gram dal and fry till its colour changes to golden brown
  2. Now add onion, curry leaves and saute till the onions will be soft on medium flame, then add ginger garlic paste and saute until the raw smell disappears
  3. Now add chopped beetroot and saute for 2 minutes on medium flame, stir in between
  4. Add tomato, red chilli powder, garam masala, and salt to taste, mix well and soften the tomato, stir in between
  5. Now add ½ cup of water, mix well and allow boil then cover the lid and cook for 2 whistles
  6. Once the pressure released itself open the lid and mix well, serve with roti or chapati, puri

Recipe Notes

  • You can also do it in open pan, but in cooker it will be fast
