Ingredients

  • Dry grapes few optional
  • 4 tbsp milk
  • Oil for deep fry
  • 6 bread slices

Syrup:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • ¼ tsp cardamom powder

Instructions

Syrup:

  1. In a pan take 1 cup of sugar and water simmer for 5 minutes till the sugar syrup turns slightly sticky. Keep on medium flame
  2. Add cardamom powder, lemon juice mix well and keep aside

Jamuns:

  1. Cut the sides of bread slices
  2. Cut into pieces and make fine powder. You can also use mixer grinder
  3. Slowly add warm milk little little and knead to a smooth and soft dough
  4. Take small portion of dough press it, stuff a resine, seal it and make a ball
  5. Make sure there are no cracks on balls
  6. Heat oil keep on low flame and put jamuns. Fry the balls on low flame stirring in between

  7. Fry till the balls turns golden brown abuot 2 to 3 minutes

  8. Drain and keep aside
  9. Immediately drop hot jamuns into hot sugar syrup. Stire and boil the sugar syrup for a minute after you add fried jamuns so that it absorbs and turns jamuns soft

  10. Turn off flame, cover the lid and rest for 2 hours

Recipe Notes

  • Brown bread doesn’t give nice golden colour to jamuns 
  • If you stuff resine it tastes more
