Ingredients

  • 500 grms chicken
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • ½ cup fresh coconut chopped
  • 2 tomato medium size chopped
  • 1 onion medium size chopped
  • 1 tsp kasuri methi
  • few coriander leaves
  • 20 garlic cloves
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 1 inch cinnamon
  • 3 cloves
  • 1 tsp chicken masala
  • 1 tbsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • water as required

Instructions

  1. In a jar add coconut, ginger, garlic, coriander leaves, cinnamon & cloves, ¼ cup of water and blend into smooth
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add onion and keep on high flame fry for 1 minute, now add chicken and fry till its colour changes to white

  3. Add turmeric, red chilli powder and salt to taste, mix well

  4. Now add blended masala mix well and fry for 1 minute
  5. Add 2 cups of water, cover the lid and simmer for 3 minutes
  6. Add chopped tomato, coriander powder, chicken masala and mix well, cover the lid and simmer for 2 minutes
  7. Open the lid and mix well, now crush the kasuri methi in hands and add, mix well and turn off the flame. Serve with roti or chapati

Recipe Notes

  • Roast the chicken pieces well in the oil before you add masala for extra taste
  • Add crushed kasuri methi in the end for extra aroma and taste.
