Ingredients

  • 2 onion medium size chopped
  • 2 tomato medium size chopped
  • ¼ cup mint leaves chopped
  • ¼ cup coriander leaves chopped
  • 2 green chillies
  • 4 tbsp oil
  • 3 boiled eggs
  • ¼ cup curd
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 cardamom
  • 1 inch cinnamon
  • 3 cloves
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 2 cup basmati rice soaked in water
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp biryani masala
  • 4 cups water
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a cooker, add all spices and roast for 5 seconds, then add onion and green chilli, fry for 1 minute on high flame
  2. Now add ginger garlic paste, mix well and fry until its raw smell disappears, add mint and coriander leaves mix well, add tomato and soften it
  3. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, biryani masala, garam masala, coriander powder, salt and mix well, keep on low flame and add curd combine well and simmer for 5 minutes
  4. Prick the boiled eggs with a knife so the eggs will absorb the masala well
  5. Put eggs in cooker and fry for 1 minute on medium flame
  6. Drain the water from soaked rice and add rice, mix well fry for 1 minute on medium flame
  7. Add 4 cups of water, salt to taste and mix gently, do not break the eggs. Allow it to boil and cover the lid, keep on high flame and cook for 2 whistles
  8. Once the pressure releases itself, open the lid and mix carefully, serve hot with raita

Recipe Notes

  • You can use chicken masala instead of biryani masala.
  • Serve with curd or raita .
