Ingredients

  • 5 boiled eggs
  • 1 medium size onion chopped
  • 1 medium size tomato chopped
  • few coriander leaves
  • 1.5 inch ginger chopped
  • 1 inch cinnamon
  • 3 cloves
  • 2/3 cup fresh coconut chopped
  • 2 big garlic cloves
  • 1.5 tbsp red chilli powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp coriander powder
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2,¼ cup water
  • salt for taste

Instructions

  1. In a jar add fresh coconut, ginger, garlic, cinnamon, cloves, coriander leaves, ¼ cup of water and blend to smooth paste
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add onion and fry on medium flame, till its colour changes to golden brown. Stir in between
  3. Now add grinded paste, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, salt to taste and mix well
  4. Add tomato and mix well, cover the lid and simmer for 2 minutes, soften the tomato
  5. Open the lid and mix well, now add 2 cups of water or as you required, mix well and cover the lid, simmer for 5 minutes
  6. Prick all the boiled eggs and add to the sambar and simmer for 2 minutes.
  7. Turn off the flame and garnish with coriander leaves, serve with rice, rori and chapati
