Learn How to make tasty and yummy Lemon rasam in just few mins, This can be served with Rice or as a soup. using toor dal, tomato, lemon and with some ingredients lemon rasam is prepared. By using lemon we can get lot of health benifits and it is good for health.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked toor dal
  • 1 medium size tomato chopped
  • 1 lemon
  • 4 cup water
  • few coriander leaves
  • few curry leaves
  • 1 dry red chilli
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • 1 tbsp ghee or oil
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 2-3 green chilli chopped
  • ½ tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 pinch hing
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Crush and make powder of the cumin and pepper seeds by crushing stone, or make powder it in a mixer
  2. In a pan add cooked toor dal, tomato, green chilli, coriander leaves, curry leaves, turmeric powder, salt to taste, 4 cups of water, mix well
  3. Cover the lid and simmer for 10 minutes, till the tomatoes will be softened

Tempering:

  1. Heat ghee in a pan, add mustard seeds, pepper and cumin powder, dry red chilli, curry leaves, hing and mix well, allow to splutter
  2. Pour tempering on rasam and mix well, now turn off the flame and add lemon juice, mix well and serve hot with rice or directly

Recipe Notes

  • Do not boil rasam after adding lemon juice, because it will lose its taste.
