Ingredients

  • 500 grams puffed rice
  • 2 medium size onion chopped
  • 2 medium size tomato chopped
  • ¼ cup roasted gram
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • ¼ cup coriander leaves
  • 6 garlic cloves
  • few curry leaves
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp green chilli paste
  • ½ tsp mustard seeds
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • 7 crushed garlic
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a jar add roasted gram, garlic and blend to powder
  2. Heat oil in a pan add mustard and cumin seeds, onion, curry leaves, green chilli paste, crushed garlic, and mix well, keep on medium flame, saute for 2 minutes, soften the onion
  3. Now add tomato and salt to taste, mix well and cover the lid, simmer for 2 minutes
  4. Soak puffed rice well in water, do not soak too much, then squeeze and separate from water, keep in a bowl
  5. Tomato is soft, now add turmeric and mix well
  6. Now add soaked puffed rice and mix well
  7. Add coriander leaves, ½ roasted gram powder and mix well, now add remaining roasted gram powder and mix well, keep on medium flame, cover the lid for a minute. Then turn off the flame and serve with mirchi or pakoda
