Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice flour
  • ½ cup besan
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp hot oil
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 1 pinch hing/asafoetida
  • oil for deep frying
  • salt to taste
  • Water as required

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl add rice flour, besan, cumin, sesame seeds, turmeric, red chilli powder, salt, pinch of hing and combine all the ingredients well
  2. Now pour hot oil and mix well with a spoon. Rub and crumble the dough well with hand
  3. Add water little by little and knead the dough to smooth, non-sticky and soft dough
  4. Take ribbon pakoda mould with straight slit and fix to the chakli maker
  5. Also grease the chakli maker with some oil, make cylindrical shape out of dough, place it inside the maker and press the dough, tighten the lid
  6. Directly press the ribbon pakoda into the hot oil, moving hand in circular motion
  7. Flip the pakoda and fry till they turn golden brown, keep on medium flame, so the pakoda will be more crispy
  8. Drain them on a paper towel, serve with masala tea

  • Store in a tight container and enjoy a month long
