Ingredients

  • ½ cup rice
  • ¾ cup jaggary
  • 1/2 cup moong dal
  • 1 tbsp raisin
  • ½ tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 tbsp cashew nuts
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 4 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Roast moong dal for a minute on medium flame, turn off the flame and take out moong dal
  2. Add rice in mong dal and rinse in water twice
  3. Put them into a pressure cooker, add 4 cups of water and cover the lid and cook for 4 whistles
  4. Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a fry pan, add cashews keep on medium flame and roast then add dry grapes and roast. Take out and keep aside
  5. In a vessel add jaggary and ¼ cup of water, keep on medium flame stir occasionally. Heat jaggary till it melts completely
  6. To remove the dust particles strain jaggary syrup through a sieve into the same pan with ghee
  7. Now boil it for a minute, keep stirring, make sure rice and dal are cooked, then add boiled rice and dal into the hot syrup, and mix, now add roasted dry fruits, milk and mix well and boil for a minute till it become slightly thick

  8. Now add 1 tbsp ghee, cardamom powder and mix well, turn off the flame

Recipe Notes

  • Some types of jaggery are not so clean, you might need to filter it. ( skip it if your jaggery is clean) .
  • Adjust the jaggery based on sweetness you are looking for.
