Ingredients

  • 250 grams tomato chopped
  • ¼ cup fresh coconut chopped
  • 1 onion medium size chopped
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 tsp red chilli powder
  • Coriander leaves few
  • 1 tsp roasted gram
  • 7 garlic
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 clove
  • ½ tsp mustard seeds
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 inch ginger
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt for taste
  • water as required

Instructions

  1. In a jar add coconut, garlic, ginger, coriander leaves, clove, cumin seeds, roasted gram and ¼ cup of water blend into smooth texture
  2. Heat oil in a pan add cumin and mustard seeds, curry leaves and allow it to splutter. Now add onion saute for a minute on medium flame

  3. Now add tomato and salt mix well

  4. Cover the lid for 3-4 minutes till the tomato will be soft
  5. Open the lid and mix well, keep on low flame and mash with a masher
  6. Now add blended masala, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, curry leaves and mix well
  7. Add 2.5 cup of water or as you required, the consistency should not be more thick or thin. Mix well, cover the lid and cook for 5 minutes

  8. Serve hot with rice
