Green peas curry | Green peas masala

  • 1 cup fresh green peas
  • ½ cup onion chopped
  • 2 Tomatoes
  • 2 green chillies
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as require


  1. In a jar add tomatoes, 1 green chilli and ginger and grind into smooth paste
  2. Heat oil in a cooker add cumin seeds, turmeric, coriander powders and mix well, keep on medium flame, now add onion and fry for a minute

  3. Then add grinded paste, red chili powder, keep some chilli powder for tadka. Fry for 2 minutes

  4. Grind green peas for 5 seconds then add into the cooker and salt for taste mix well, saute for a minute, stir in between
  5. Add 1 cup of water and mix well, cover the lid and cook for 1 whistle
  6. once the pressure released by itself open the lid and mix well, add water if required. Add garam masala, coriander leaves mix well


  1. Heat 2 tsp oil in a tadka pan, a cumin seeds, slited green chilli, red chilli powder and fry for a minute then pour it on curry and garnish with coriander leaves
  2. Serve with rice, roti, puri, chapati
