Red chilli pickle recipe | instant red chilli chutney

  • 250 grms red chillies
  • 2 tsp methi/fenugreek seeds
  • 50 grms tamarind
  • 50 grms salt
  • Few curry leaves
  • 2 dried red chillies
  • 1 tsp gram dal
  • 1 tsp urad dal
  • 8 garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 3 tbsp oil


  1. Remove heads and roughly chop cleaned chillies
  2. Dry roast fenugreek seeds for a minute on low flame, allow it to cool then grind into fine powder
  3. In a jar add red chillies, salt, tamarind and grind.
  4. In a mixing bowl, put grinded chill paste, add fenugreek powder, salt and mix well
  5. Take it into a tight container and rest it for 2 days
  6. After 2 days, grind again


  1. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard and cumin seeds, gram, urad dal and saute, allow to splutter, then add garlic, red chilli, curry leaves and roast for a minute, finally add hing mix and turn off the flame
  2. After it cooled down, add grinded chilli paste and give a good mix and store it in a tight container
